CamRecord – high performance in all environments
Whether it’s needed in the laboratory, at external sites or for crash tests, you can expect high performance every time, every place and everywhere from Optronis’ CamRecord. The system is particularly easy to operate. The high level of light sensitivity of the CamRecord series gives you a clear view of your subject, even in poor light conditions. The CamRecord series has a wide range of resolutions and frame rates, and you can also freely configure the resolution and frame rate for each individual camera for the required performance. Standard F, EF-S and C mount lenses can be used, and each system is supplied with the TimeBench analysis software included.
Swirls of dust and high levels of air humidity are no problem for CamRecord. In fact, with its sturdy housing and no ventilation slots, it is best equipped for such conditions. That’s why your CamRecord is particularly well suited for use outside. It has already proven its robust quality in numerous applications. Even for analyzing the hind leg hoofs of show jumping horses. And there’s nowhere quite like an equestrian arena for stirring up lots of dust. A Nikon or Canon lens, for example, can be attached to the housing – which immediately turns any task with the CamRecord into a familiar routine. Fixtures for attaching a tripod to various sides of the housing make these high-speed cameras even more versatile.
Measuring in detail
CamRecord offers a broad choice of sensor resolutions, and with it you can make virtually every detail of an image sequence visible to the eye. But that’s not all: you can also measure it. The TimeBench analysis software supplied with every CamRecord provides you with a wide range of measurement tools. For example, you can plot angles and measure speeds. You can also often mathematically verify a particular detail using the evaluation tool and gain new insights – which can in turn frequently lead to new solutions! And it’s all easily done from your workstation. The PC to which the camera is connected functions as a base unit into which other PCs, iPads and iPhones can be integrated via the web.
Good vision – even in poor conditions
Not another job that needs an elaborate lighting setup? Much too expensive and complicated. But you don’t have to worry about any of this with CamRecord. Thanks to its high level of light sensitivity, CamRecord can be used in areas where a modern LED lighting system is sufficient for capturing fast movements or where the lens is sensitive to heat. Another great feature of the CamRecord is the 16 gigabit ring buffer, which doesn’t just fulfill a purely data storage function. The CamRecord is operated via a trigger; in other words, via a shutter release. After you’ve starting recording, the CamRecord stores the relevant image sequence even before you activate the trigger. The recording then continues for a set time, as ultimately you’re working with particularly fast processes. The sequence is then backed up in the ring buffer, and that’s how the CamRecord takes account of response times entirely automatically.
TimeBench: simple and location-independent video analysis
TimeBench is the intuitive analysis software for your high-speed camera from Optronis. TimeBench was developed mainly for the CamRecord to allow data obtained from the shots to be professionally analyzed in detail. However, beyond that the analysis software also makes the parameterization of high-speed cameras easier. In addition, TimeBench gives you functions for video display, image acquisition, video analysis and for storing and managing video data. It’s then extremely easy to document the results of the analysis in the relevant image, as well as inserting notes and comments.
TimeBench supports you with a simple integrated tool for configuring applications with several high-speed cameras, as it allows basic camera configuration parameters to be transmitted to the additional cameras. TimeBench can therefore shorten the setting process for several cameras for you and simplifies the camera configuration itself.
Web-based camera control
Until the start of 2012, it was only possible to control high-speed cameras from one PC which was directly connected to the camera. In other words, the user had to be directly on site. Since TimeBench was released, although the high-speed camera can also be positioned like a standard camera and connected locally to a PC on which TimeBench is installed, this PC, however, then takes over the function of a server, to which several devices, such as other computers, iPads and smartphones, can be connected with the new web service. Via the web, you can now access TimeBench locally using the integrated devices, allowing recordings to be controlled independent of the location. TimeBench is included in the scope of delivery of all CamRecords supplied. To install it, all you’ll need is a standard computer with MS Windows Vista or MS Windows 7.
